How to Enroll
To enroll in classes students must first take a pre-placement test. To make an appointment for a test, please call 612-376-0619, fill out form below, or come in person to the Riverside Plaza Resident Resource Center, located at 1515 S 4th St, Minneapolis, MN 55454.
Testing appointments are scheduled:
- Tuesday mornings, 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
- Wednesday afternoons, 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
- Thursday evenings, 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Based on the test scores students are enrolled in the appropriate class level and, if there is space in the class, can start class the following Monday. If the class is full then the student is placed on a waiting list or referred to another ESL program.
SubmitTutoring
Volunteer tutors are available in the Resource Center classroom and computer lab Monday – Friday, 3:30-5:30pm to assist students individually with homework help; English conversation; reading practice; filling out forms; preparation for Citizenship; or computer help.
Students must sign in and out at front desk whenever they use the computer lab or work with a tutor.

Cedar Riverside Adult Education Collaborative (CRAEC)
The Cedar Riverside Adult Education Collaborative is a collaboration between three partner agencies: Riverside Plaza Tenants’ Association (RPTA),Brian Coyle Community Center, and Minneapolis Public Schools Adult Basic Education Program. Since 2000, these three agencies have pooled resources and worked jointly to provide education opportunities to adult immigrants and refugees living in and around the Cedar Riverside neighborhood. rhood.

Programs
We offer a range of free English Language Learning courses from Pre-literate to High Intermediate (levels 0-5). The various levels ensure an opportunity for anyone hoping to learn english, no matter their prior education or experience. We also offer courses of instruction in Math and Computer Skills.

Computers:
As part of the regular class time students come to the computer lab for at least one hour every week. Additionally, students may use the computer lab at other times of the day for independent study. Open Computer Lab Main computer lab is open for residents Monday-Friday, 3:00pm - 5:00pm. There are additional three computers are available for the residents Monday - Friday 8:00am - 8:30pm.
